At Olive & Grace Co., we’re on a mission to change the face of in-hospital newborn photography services. Gone are the days of overpriced, corporate photography services that feel sterile, unprofessional and cold.

We believe babies should be captured just as they are. And where they should be:

in the arms of those who love them most.

Olive & Grace is run by a local small business here in the Queen City with incredibly talented, professional photographers who are passionate about infants & women’s health.

We artistically photograph your family in an organic, laid-back, documentarystyle that captures your new baby in timeless images that feel like your family.

Right from the comfort of your delivery room you’ll experience a luxury, boutique photography service that feels personal, comfortable and professional.

Every session comes with one complimentary image in color.

After your session, you will then have the option to purchase one of our Luxury Collections.

We have multiple options available for your family based on all budgets and needs. Every Collection we provide comes with high-resolution digital images and print credit to our online store for you to purchase precious family, heirloom items, baby announcements, slideshows, grandparent albums and more.

Step 01.

reserve your due date and secure your session

Head to the link below to fill out your booking form, pay the session fee and sign your session contract.

This step ensures that your session is confirmed and to make sure we have multiple photographers available to accommodate your due date.

Step 02.

get excited and prepare for your session

If you’ve booked ahead of time via our website or learning from us at your OB office, then you’ll have some time to prepare for your session. Click the button below to learn about our best tips to prepare for your session including when to call, what to wear and how to prepare your room (spoiler alert: you don’t need to do much).

If you decide to book with us after you’ve delivered, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. The beautiful thing about our approach to newborn photography is that you have EVERYTHING you need for your session. Yourself (if you want to be in the photos) and the love you have for precious new baby you’ve been expecting… that’s all you need!

Step 03.

notify us that you are in labor, headed to the hospital or have delivered if you experience a precipitous birth

When you are admitted, please click the link below to notify us ASAP.

You are also welcome to give us a call or let your nurse know you need photography services at the bedside. More of our information and how to notify us will be in your admission folder.

Please make every attempt to notify us quickly (ideally on your way to the hospital in labor or when you’re admitted prior to delivery). This gives us ample time to make sure one of our photographers is present and available to accommodate your session prior to your discharge.

Step 04.

Receive your completed gallery and select your collection

Within 72 hours of your session you will receive a proofing gallery with a minimum of 30 images. At this time you will have the ability to select which Collection you'd like to purchase.

Every collection comes with high-resolution digital images and print credit to purchase heirloom items in the online store.

What is a In-Hospital Newborn Session?

A in-hospital newborn session, also know as a Fresh 48 session, is a photography session that occurs in your hospital room and is aimed at capturing the precious first hours and days of your newborn's life. It is a lifestyle type of session that focuses on the simplicity of family connection & uses natural posing & lighting to highlight your baby and family exactly as you are. No fluff, awkward posing, or flashing lightbulbs.

02.

When does the session occur?

Fresh 48 sessions generally occur within hours of birth, up until the time of discharge. Pending extenuating circumstances, this generally captures your newborn up to 48 hours of life. It's amazing how quickly these little ones can change and before you know it, they'll look completely different in a manner of weeks!

03.

How do I book a session?

We will be on the unit Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays from 10am-3pm to photograph sessions (as well as on call Sundays). You can book ahead of time here on our website or you can simply book at the bedside with credit card or via our booking link. We will come say hello and introduce ourselves when you’re admitted but we will not be coming into your room after delivery to respect your privacy. Please refer to the pamphlet in your admission folder to book services or reach out to your nurse to let them know you’d like a session.

We are always available via email (hello@oliveandgrace.co) if you need to get in touch with us!

‬If you happen to deliver on a different day and you'd still like a session, please reach out and we'll try to accommodate you as best we can! All that is required at the time of booking is a non-refundable session fee that covers the session time, editing of your proofing gallery and two complimentary images in color. You can then purchase your collection at a later date after seeing your proofing gallery.

04.

do I have to be in the photos?

Absolutely not! Plenty of sessions we do are baby-only sessions. This is totally up to you to decide if you'd like to be involved in the session or if you'd rather just rest and recover! Siblings are welcome to be involved in the session, we just ask that the first 20 minutes is set aside for just baby or baby/parents before siblings join in.

05.

What kind of products do you have in the online store?

We have a large variety of products for you to choose from in the online store. They range from fine art prints, everyday print packs, linen & velvet albums, keepsake boxes, folios, grandparent albums, birth annoncements, framed prints, slideshows & more.

06.

How do I prepare for my session?

The beauty of a Fresh 48 session is that you really don't need to prepare! If you have some special outfits for your baby that you'd like to use, we can talk about that at the beginning of your session, otherwise we can use hospital outfits & swaddles if need be. That said, you'll find some guidance HERE on clothing if you do want to prepare!

07.

can friends and family send me gift cards toward my session?

Yes! Gift cards to your newborn photography session is a very meaningful and special way for family and friends to congratulate you or shower you with love during this special season of life. Please email us at hello@oliveandgrace.co if you’d like to set up a gift registry with us. You can link this to your BabyList Registry or directly send them a link!

08.

Can I involve the baby's siblings or extended family?

This all depends on hospital visitor policies. Please reach out to your nursing staff to inquire about the current visitor policies. If siblings are able to visit, they are welcome to be involved in the session. Due to the nature of the session, no extended family will be photographed.

09.

How many digital images are in the gallery for me to choose from?

We guarantee a minimum of 30 images in your gallery for you to choose from, although generally deliver much more. Your session fee comes with two complimentary images in color.

10.

When will I receive my digital images and print products?

A proofing gallery will be sent to you within 72 hours of your session. At that time, you can decide which collection you'd like to purchase. Depending on the collection and print products you choose, delivery time will vary due to shipping & packaging. Most families will receive their completed collection and gallery packages within 1 month of the session date!

11.

Are there items in the online shop that I can gift to family and friends?

Yes! There are many lovely gift options for family & friends in the online shop. Some of these items include print packs, calendars, ornaments, slideshows, grandparent albums and more!

12.

Do you provide retouching services?

We do not provide retouching services. One of our core beliefs as a company is that babies are perfect, just as they are. The nature of our art strives to preserve the honesty & beauty of the first 48 hours of life, baby acne and all. You will not see photoshopped images in our work and we do not provide this additional service. We believe your family & newborn are perfect as you are.
